Multi-Brand Restaurant Mobile Apps at Scale
A privacy-safe case study about preparing mobile-responsive restaurant ordering interfaces and WebView-based Android and iOS applications across more than 30 restaurant brands.
Project overview
This work involved designing and delivering similar WebView-based mobile applications for more than 30 restaurant brands that needed stronger mobile ordering experiences.
I prepared mobile-responsive versions of restaurant websites and ordering interfaces, then created Android applications using Android Studio and iOS applications using Xcode.
Reusable implementation patterns were adapted across multiple restaurant brands, rather than treating every app as a completely separate platform. Ginger Tandoori may be used later as one representative implementation if its screenshots are approved for public use.
The challenge
Restaurant ordering websites needed to feel usable inside mobile app contexts while preserving their web-backed ordering model. Branding, restaurant information, navigation, menus, ordering, cart, checkout, account, gallery, and content workflows had to be adapted repeatedly without exposing private client settings or treating the WebView apps as fully native products.
My role
My contribution focused on responsive frontend adaptation, WebView app implementation, mobile navigation, platform configuration, mobile testing, and Google Play and Apple App Store submission preparation.
I created Android WebView applications using Android Studio and iOS WebView applications using Xcode.
I adapted branding, restaurant information, navigation, menus, ordering, cart, checkout, account, gallery, and content workflows for individual restaurants where applicable.
I tested the apps and prepared or submitted them through the relevant Google Play and Apple App Store systems, without claiming that every submitted app was approved or remains publicly available.
Approach and implementation
- Used reusable mobile interface and WebView implementation patterns that could be adapted across multiple restaurant brands.
- Prepared mobile-responsive ordering experiences covering homepage content, navigation drawers, menu and category interfaces, ordering, cart, coupons, checkout totals, account access, pages, and gallery workflows.
- Created Android WebView app shells in Android Studio and iOS WebView app shells in Xcode for restaurant-specific ordering experiences.
- Adapted branding, restaurant information, navigation behavior, content, and ordering interface details for individual restaurants where applicable.
- Tested mobile ordering flows across devices and prepared or submitted apps through Google Play and Apple App Store systems without claiming approval or continued availability.
